Hans-Martin Billing is a senior technology and innovation executive with more than 30 years of international experience across the passenger and commercial vehicle tire industries. As Head of Innovation & Applied Research, he is responsible for shaping innovation strategy, steering applied research portfolios, and advancing technology readiness to transform scientific insights into sustainable business value.

Throughout his career at Continental, Hans-Martin has held executive leadership roles spanning Innovation & Applied Research, Global Product Platform Development, Product Development, Product Review, Product Industrialization, and international operations management. He has successfully led global organizations through major technology transformations, driving improvements in product performance, quality, development efficiency, industrial competitiveness, and innovation effectiveness.

Combining deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, he has consistently bridged the gap between research, engineering, and industrial implementation. His areas of expertise include tire technology, materials science, simulation, product engineering, technology management, and organizational transformation.

Hans-Martin holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Hochschule Darmstadt and completed executive leadership programs at Ashridge Business School and the Darden School of Business, further strengthening his capabilities in international leadership and business management.
